There are so many places to eat in Edinburgh and so many different kinds of food. It's sometimes hard choosing where you want to eat. Here is a list of places around Edinburgh where you can grab a bite:
1. Made in Italy
If you're looking for a nice, delicious Italian dinner go to Made in Italy! I ordered Penne Funghi and the rest of my family ordered pizza. They also have delicious looking desserts in front of the kitchen, where the chef is speaking Italian. Everything was tasty and the service was great!

2. Preacher's Patisserie
We found this place when we were on the hunt for a small breakfast. They have fresh bread and scones in the window, which immediately grabs everyone's attention. I ordered a plain scone with butter and jam and my dad ordered an almond and cherry scone with butter and jam. Both were amazing! My mom and my brother both ordered a morning roll with eggs, bacon, and cheese. They said the rolls were really good also! If you're looking for a cozy place to grab some breakfast, I highly recommend Preacher's!

3. Peppers Sandwich Bar
Peppers Sandwich Bar is near Preachers Patisserie and as we were passing it, I noticed they have croissants. I'm a huge croissant person, so of course I had to pop in to get one. The croissant was delicious and the food that everyone else had also looked really good. They have sandwiches, salads, soups, and more!

4. Kilderkin
Kilderkin is right down the street from Palace of Holyroodhouse (we were hungry after we toured the Palace, so we found this place). I order the mac and cheese (I'm also a huge mac and cheese person) and it was amazing! Everyone in my family was eating off my plate because it was sooo good! My dad got the haggis bites, which were also good. Everyone else in my family ordered the chicken burger and they all enjoyed it. Note: Kilderkin is a pub, so you must be eating if you go in with kids.

5. Mary's Milk Bar
Everyone who knows me knows I am addicted to ice cream/gelato, so it was a given that I'd go to Mary's Milk Bar. We went on a Tuesday around noon and there was NO line (we saw the line on a Friday afternoon, SO LONG)!! Of course I had to order the hot chocolate float (hot chocolate with a scoop of gelato), which was delicious! I highly recommend going early on a weekday, so you don't have to wait in line and you will get there before some of the flavors are gone.

6. Alba Bistro
Alba Bistro was just down the street from our hotel, so it was super convenient. This friendly restaurant has a large selection of sandwiches/wraps/paninis and breakfast, but we all ordered paninis both times we went there. I got a brie, bacon, and cranberry panini, my dad ordered the falafel wrap, and my mom and brother got chicken paninis. Everything was very good and decently priced!

7. St. Giles’ Cafe & Bar
We stopped here for a quick drink and snack. We ordered shortbread and an Edinburgh Mist. If you go here (and you like tea with cream) you must order the Edinburgh Mist! It has Earl Gray Tea, cream, vanilla, and cinnamon. It’s soooo tasty!!
